The VA pays for veterans to stay here while traveling to the Mt. Home hospital. It is a horrible place to stay. The furniture is very old. It is clean but old and not something I would feel comfortable in. The curtains did not close all the way. I left and went to another hotel. You get what you pay for. I asked the manager for a room in the main building and he hem hawed around and then told me Veterans were in the outside buildings.
Made reservation previous day, arrived, clerk demanded either to hold my credit card or post a $40 deposit for possible room damage....Have NEVER been ask for this in the past. I declined either option but had to choose one or the other...I was going to leave the $40...under the condition we both inspect the room before accepting and the other the two of us recheck it before checkout tomorrow...we proceeded to go to the room...it was a smelly dump in the run down part of the establishment...I ask for another room, which could not be provided...I declined this room...The clerk refused to cancel my reservation, and as it stands now, the charge will be contested upon receipt of my credit card bill. I went down the street to a nearby Sleep Inn and got a much nicer room for $79.00...Hope other Baymont properties are not run in a similar fashion.
Booked through hotwire for 3 nights. The first night we checked in late, around 1 am. The guy at the front desk was super nice. The room smelled horrible, but it was late and we had a 1 year old with us so we stuck it out. The morning, we asked to switch rooms. The manager was very rude with a bad attitude. Finally, he switched us to another room. We were gone all that day and got in late that night. The next morning, we woke up with fleas all over us and our things. We notified the manager and he pretty much called us liars and said the room was clean before we checked in. There was pet hair all in the carpet. (We don't even own pets.) so, we checked out and got a room elsewhere. Horrible experience, would not stay again. We would've been more understanding if the manager wasn't so rude.
Room was ok, not gorgeous but clean and neat. No elevator so we had to carry all our bags up 3 flights and then the room was really hot because the air conditioning was not on. The guy at the front desk was really nice and patient and offered us a new room but we didn't want to relocate all of our stuff... It took almost 2 hours to cool down but after that it was ok.
Had a quick one stay! Easy check-in, clean rooms, good breakfast! Couldn't have asked for anything better, and the price and location is even better! Close to the mall and the interstate and just a few minutes down the road from the gray fossil sight. Will definitely be returning!
