They are a rat hole. filthy, Incompetent doctors and staff. They nearly killed me twice. I would be dead today had I not gone to Pikeville medical center. I pay for my own hospital and dental care rather then go there for free. The Va's all should be closed down and just give the old vets Medicare. My wifes champ V is much better. She can go to a competent doctor, anywhere. I have NEVER had a good experience at any VA hospital. The last time I was at a VA, was the Johnson city VA. I sat in the ER, for 3 hours, and there were only 4 more people there. No one ever got to see a doctor, and we all just gave up and left.

Husband been cared for many years at Mtn Home and could rate every years care a 9+ if not a 10. He is telling me what to write because he just had his 2nd broken neck surgery and also hates the computer! There once was a slip up after heart surgery but wife caught it immediately and was rectified. Great people great care and he's been to every section of health specialty with very few exceptions! Not funny, but factual. Teddy/judy Robert's

Rude, questionable ethics at best . I could not recommend it to any veteran who wishes for a good primary care physician. The high turnover rate is almost always a good indicator of a sub par medical center.

UPDATE!!!! Changing to a 3 star rating, since Trump has made the veteran complaint line these guys have seen two step it up and more people seem to care versus not care though it was the other way around for the longest time in my experience I will be updating again in a few months. If it has improved enough I will even remove some of my negative comments in the first paragraph.

This place is a joke for a medical facility. I'm not going to get into the countless useless details I've endured but I will say I hope someone one day destroys the buildings and starts over a new va in the area so someone may actually give a shit. I went in with a stable wound pouring blood and they said I couldn't go back until I signed in, SERIOUSLY? This va is a joke and so are the ppl allowing it to continue to be a joke, and FYI u know ur gonna get shifty service when the chief of medical staff parks halfway in their spot and half on the curb. I'd like to have an old school fight with these chumps one by one I guarantee you that after they would act different.

I've had 2 surgeries there, always been treated well and with respect. Sometimes you have to call them like I had to today about a upcoming procedure. Let's face it it a busy place and unfortunately you can fall through the cracks in the system. But all things considered it's one of the better VA hospital's I've been to and feel more comfortable there then our local hospital.
