Enjoyed my visits, spent too much money on books ... and then I made the mistake of hitting the music section as well. Very nice people (except for this one guy with a stubby beard). Highly recommend if you are willing to spend a lot of time browsing because they are not really in good order, other than by genre, and if you ask for a specific author like say, Camille Paglia or Thomas Sowell, they'll just shrug and smile and point you in a general direction ... then you have to hope to just get lucky. But they do have tons of books and I've never left there without a few to add to my library.
Love this place. Phenomenal prices, good variety, helpful and nice staff. Also have LOTS of extras including movies, tablets, and some used game systems.
I was visiting Johnson City at Christmas & saw this store so stopped in and came away with several great CD's and I book I'd never read by one of my favorite authors, so it was a great experience. Had I more time & money, I'd have probably come away completely loaded down with stuff, the selection was amazing & I could have spent hours there. Great store.
I love coming to this secondhand bookstore! Mr. K's has a HUGE variety of books from fictional genres to secondary education subjects. If that's not enough, they also supply an ample supply of secondhand DVDS, Blu-Rays, CDS, various video game platforms and gaming software, and even vinyl 33s and 45s. Mr. K's should be the collector's first choice in finding what completes their collection of media.
Really nice environment. I felt comfortable finding a little nook upstairs to flip through pages. Honestly pretty bland as far as costomer experience but for the price point who cares. Sweet vinal selection as well. The people at the checkout are friendly and quick. I always have a good time here
