The drug addicts have ruined the belief that people suffer from real pain. Since there is an opiod epidemic in southern Appalachia, in the VA hospital that means everyone is an addict. My primary care doctor told me, "I know your in pain and it's so severe it keeps you up at night and haven't slept in 2 years, but unfortunately you have to be 6 months from death to be prescribed opiods". Still haven't really been able to sleep my pcm prescribed me muscle relaxers. This forces me to pass out for 3 hours but that's it. Hey thanks for serving your country enjoy the pain from your deployments. What a joke
Terrible place to get into. No parking, poor directions. If you make it inside there are plenty of people to help you.
Hardest damn hospital to find in an emergency, still can't find the damn place.
After the failure of VA clinic to believe that there was anything wrong with me for 6 month to year since x-rays showed nothing. I Drove 2 hours with painful pinched nerve in back that kept me from standing more then 5 mins to be refused an MRI in ER, accused of being drug addict, told I needed to walk around more, and sent away with the explanation I am having back pain from spams from sitting to much. I was treated with such disrespect and disregard for my well being. I have now been trying for over 3 1/2 years to get treated for my pinched nerve. GITMO prisoners get better treatment. #UnfairVA
Suffer from chronic pain since my deployment ten years ago. When I moved to east tn I was skeptical about the va here given my experience with the Dallas tx va. To my surprise I received exellent help for 3 years dealing with my pain and receiving pain meds to help. Nov. 2016 the va started lowering my dosage saying they where going to find a alt. Form of treat other than opioid. Their solution was taking me off the meds that where helping me function and maintain a normal life and switch to muscle relaxers. After months of fighting with them over this issues they told me that I could take the muscle relaxers or nothing...I lost my farm and divorced because I could not operate on the pills and keep my Dailey life together.
