Calling 911 over a lost phone. I'm still shaking my head over that one...
came here on vacation...i left on probation...overall not a good place to exist.
Had a knife pulled on me downtown during a late night, the cop across the street was too interested in getting the cars over in the farmers market towed to get the guys casually walking away. I work downtown and this was a pretty upsetting moment. Luckily we had other ppl here and no one was stabbed but this was pretty upsetting
Happy to see them out trying to make the road a safer place. They caught me speeding today, not too happy about that part, but he was doing his job. Can't get mad because I was in the wrong ( limit went from 65-55) and he explained my options for being from out of state. Very polite and professional!
One thing I find incredibly wasteful is that I called today, as I lost my phone. The clerk who answered told me I needed to dial 911. I asked, "Over a lost phone? That hardly seems like an emergency." She said that was the only way to get an officer to my house. I told her I wasn't going to waste tax money calling 911 over a lost phone. Now, on account of this, I'll have to go to the station with my youngest, and hope he behaves long enough to try and retrieve my phone.
Called 3 times to the main number and it just rings and rings and no one ever picks up. That's reassuring....
I've had decent experiences with JCPD overall. Last time I got caught speeding, he waited to pull me over so I could drop my son off for school first. I thought that was very thoughtful. Didn't like the ticket part, but I was in the wrong.
